DESCRIPTION: 'Title: Supertooth: Wideband Bluetooth Observation with a Ha
ckRF\n Tags: Radio Frequency Village | Creator Talk/Panel\n When: Frid
 ay\, Aug 7\, 16:30 - 16:55 PDT\n Where: LVCCW Level 1 Hall 1 409 (Radio
Frequency Village) - [1]Map\n\n Description:\n\n Modern Bluetooth envi
ronments are inherently difficult to observe.\n Classic piconets frequen
cy-hop 1\,600 times per second\, forcing\n sniffers to choose between tr
acking a single connection or losing\n visibility across the spectrum. S
upertooth is an open-source\, C-based\n SDR platform built on the HackRF
that eliminates this tradeoff.\n Instead of traditional hop-following\,
it captures a fixed 20 MHz slice\n of the 2.4 GHz band\, fanning the ra
w IQ stream into parallel\n per-channel demodulation workers. This appro
ach provides simultaneous\,\n real-time visibility into up to 20 BR/EDR
channels at once.\n\n Each worker runs an independent GFSK demodulation
pipeline powered by\n liquid-dsp\, feeds decoded bitstreams into access-
code correlators\, and\n hands matching frames to libbtbb for UAP recove
ry and HEC-based clock\n tracking\, all without needing to know a picone
t’s future frequency\n hops. Supertooth also features a hybrid mode th
at decodes a Bluetooth\n low energy advertising channel concurrently fro
m the same 20 MHz\n stream\, exposing advertising data alongside classic
piconet activity\n in a unified view. Per-role RSSI separation further
allows researchers\n to distinguish central and peripheral transmission
patterns from\n passive observation alone.\n\n This talk walks through
the tool end-to-end\, detailing how Supertooth\n improves on traditiona
l single-channel workflows like those used by\n the Ubertooth. We will d
emonstrate the platform live\, discuss current\n recovery capabilities a
nd the limitations of passive clock tracking\,\n and outline a roadmap f
or future development. The project is\n open-source\, and the build requ
 ires only a HackRF\, libhackrf\,\n liquid-dsp\, and libbtbb.\n\n Speak
