 t\n When: Sunday\, Aug 9\, 10:00 - 11:59 PDT\n Where: LVCCW Level 1 Ha
 ll 1 200 ($unL1ght Sh4d0w5) - [1]Map\n\n Description:\n\n “$unL1ght
Sh4d0w5”: The Nirubi Challenge — Prove Your Agency\n\n Systems shape
  the world.\n\n Algorithms decide.\n\n Policies enforce.\n\n Machine
s execute.\n\n Most people live inside those systems.\n\n Hackers chan
ge them.\n\n At DEF CON 34\, where the theme is Agency\, the question is
n’t whether\n systems have vulnerabilities.\n\n The question is who
has the power to act on them.\n\n Welcome to “$unL1ght Sh4d0w5: The Ni
rubi Challenge.”\n\n Instead of hiding the system\, we give you the bl
 ueprint: - A\n production-ready Linux cyber-physical system - Known vuln
erabilities -\n A working proof-of-concept exploit - Full system disclos
 ure\n\n No mystery.\n\n No guessing.\n\n Just a cyber-physical syste
m — and the opportunity to exercise your\n agency over it.\n\n The N
irubi Mandate\n\n Nirubi is an ancient Tamil word meaning “to prove.
 \n\n Not with theory.\n\n Not with writeups.\n\n With execution.\n\
n You’ve been given the knowledge.\n\n Now prove you have the agency
to act on it.\n\n The Challenge\n\n Your objective is simple:\n\n A
chieve remote code execution and deploy a malicious payload (e.g.\,\n ra
nsomware payload that encrypts a sensitive file\, command and control\n
payload that takes over the cyber-physical system etc.).\n\n Two phases.
 \n\n Part 1 — Sh4d0w5 Recon\n\n Extend the provided exploit chain an
d deliver a working malicious\n payload.\n\n You have the vulnerabilit
ies.\n\n Now show us you can use them.\n\n Part 2 — $unL1ght Horizon
\n\n If you complete Part 1\, the system returns — hardened with\n p
roprietary defensive technology designed to disrupt your attack path.\n\n
Same objective.\n\n New resistance.\n\n Adapt your exploit and land
the payload again.\n\n The Prize\n\n The first contestant to complete
both phases wins: $10\,000\n\n Bring $unL1ght into the Sh4d0w5.\n\n Wh
at Makes This Different\n\n Most contests hide the system. We don’t. Y
 ou’ll receive: - Full\n system configuration - Vulnerability details -
  A working\n proof-of-concept exploit\n\n No blind recon. No guessing.
Just a system\, its weaknesses\, and your\n ability to act. Because kno
wing about vulnerabilities is easy.\n Exploiting them is agency.\n\n R
ules & Eligibility\n\n * Contestants must be 18 years or older to part
icipate.\n\n * All participants must agree to our terms and conditions
\, which\n include rules for responsible disclosure and non-disclosu
re\n agreements.\n\n * The contest will be held during DEF CON 3
4\, with specific dates\n and times to be announced.\n\n Additiona
l details will be announced closer to the event.\n\n Participant Prerequ
 isites\n\n Bring your own gear: - Laptop and/or smartphone/tablet - Oper
 ating\n system of your choice (Linux/Windows recommended) - Python - C/C
++\n compiler - Binary analysis and exploit development tools\n\n Brin
g whatever tools you trust. Once the challenge begins\, the system\n is
in front of you. What happens next is up to your agency.\n\n '\n\n 1.
