 re\n Emulation\n Tags: DEF CON Demo Labs | Intermediate | Defense/Blue

 g | DEF CON Demo\n Labs\n When: Friday\, Aug 7\, 10:00 - 10:45 PDT\n
  Where: LVCCW Level 1 Hall 3 1002 (Demo Labs Track 2) - [1]Map\n\n Descr
iption:\n Standard security testing often forces a choice: use "script-k
iddie"\n tools that get caught instantly\, or use high-end frameworks th
at are\n too complex for rapid detection testing. Peekaboo bridges this
 gap. In\n this Demo Lab\, we present Peekaboo - a modular\, open-source
framework\n designed for safe threat emulation. Unlike traditional malwa
re\,\n Peekaboo focuses on generating high-fidelity telemetry through\n
   legitimate cloud API abuse (GitHub\, Bitbucket\, Slack\, Discord\, Azure
 \,\n VirusTotal\, XBOX\, AngelCam\, etc) and evasive execution technique
 s\n (Direct Syscalls\, Callback-based execution).\n\n We will demonstr
ate how to:\n\n * Generate polymorphic agents that bypass static analy
sis using rare\n cryptographic algorithms like Speck and Skipjack.\n
\n * Generate agents that leverage signal processing like Fast Fourier
\n Transformation and Feistel-network based cryptography for bypass\
n EDR.\n\n * Establish covert C2 channels within the metadata of
  trusted\n enterprise applications.\n\n * Rapidly test EDR/SIEM
rules against modern persistence and lateral\n movement techniques w
 ithout risking system stability.\n\n Peekaboo isn't just a tool\; it's a
"sandbox-friendly" adversary in a\n box\, designed to help Blue Teams l
evel up by understanding the nuances\n of the Offensive Dev Loop. Come s
ee how we turn "hidden" threats into\n "visible" learning opportunities.
