DESCRIPTION: 'Title: Exploration of Cellular Based IoT Technology\n Whe
 n: Friday\, Aug 9\, 14:30 - 15:30 PDT\n Where: LVCC West/Floor 1/Hall 2/
 Creator Stage 1 - [1]Map\n\n Description:\n\n As cellular technologies
continue to become more integrated into IoT\n devices\, there has been
a noticeable lag in comprehending potential\n security implications asso
ciated with cellular hardware technologies.\n Furthermore\, the developm
ent of effective hardware testing\n methodologies has also fallen behind
. Given the highly regulated\n nature of cellular communication and the
prevalent use of encryption\,\n it is imperative for security researcher
s to deepen their\n understanding of circuit design and the integration
of cellular modems\n into IoT devices. In this presentation\, I will int
roduce a\n wide-ranging testing and analysis methodology aimed at enhanc
ing our\n understanding and evaluation of the security of IoT devices th
at\n currently rely on cellular communications. This methodology will\n
encompass an examination of various cellular modem modules in use\,\n
their integration into circuit design\, and hardware hacking techniques\n
for interacting with communication circuits to control cellular\n modu
les\, all for the purpose of security testing and analysis.\n\n Speakers
