 eing missed from the narrative in the media. We know\n   about position sp
 oofing\, that's a given. What doesn't appear to be\n   getting much attent
 ion is the effect of time spoofing.\n\n   The most significant of these is
  an incident where time was spoofed a\n   significant period into the futu
 re. This caused all digital\n   certificates on board an aircraft to becom
 e invalid and caused all\n   electronic communications to fail. As GPS clo
 cks have protection\n   against time being rolled backwards\, but not forw
 ard\, the aircraft was\n   grounded for several weeks for systems to be re
 flashed and the clocks\n   to be reset\,\n\n   Coarse time spoofing could 
 therefore ground entire fleets. We'll\n   discuss this and potential mitig
 ations. If time allows\, we could touch\n   on conventional RF navaids and
