  CON and wonder “what is up with\n   the hard hats?”\n\n   The Hard Ha
 t Brigade brings hackers together in the spirit of endless\n   curiosity a
 nd tinkering. We use a common platform (hats) to combine\n   art (bling) a
 nd hacker functionality (warez) to inspire others to\n   explore outside o
 f their comfort zones in a safe and welcoming\n   community.\n\n   We enco
 urage everyone to explore their creativity using art\,\n   electronics\, m
 echanical design\, or any other medium that piques their\n   interest. Hat
 s are inexpensive\, widely available\, and easy to modify\n   to suit your
  needs. We started with hard hats but are not limited to\n   any type of h
 at\, so you have the freedom to choose whatever hat suits\n   your fancy.\
 n\n   Despite everyone using a common platform\, every creation is unique 
 and\n   embodies the personality of the creator. Walking around DEF CON\, 
 you\n   can display your creation for all to see\, and many will stop to a
 sk\n   you about what you have created. This allows you to talk about your
 \n   experience\, as well as inspire others to explore new ideas of their\
 n   own.\n\n   One of the challenges at hacker summer camp has been findin
 g people to\n   connect with. By leveraging hard hats as a canvas\, HHB ha
 s solved this\n   challenge with something that is incredibly accessible w
 hile also\n   offering a ton of variety. Gazing upon these creations\, the
 y reflect\n   back the uniqueness of all the awesome hackers that we’ve 
 been able\n   to meet. In years past\, we’ve had the opportunity to see 
 how so many\n   talented and creative hackers tackle the challenge of usin
 g the\n   venerable hard hat as their muse. Just as fun\, charming and ski
 lled as\n   so many attendees are\, the hard hat has been a great vessel t
 o carry\n   their awesome projects.\n\n   Stop by our community space and 
 make your trip memorable by trying on\n   a hat\, learning and sharing bui
 lding techniques\, networking with other\n   hat loving hackers\, and expr
 essing yourself in your own hacker way.\n   Keep on hacking!\n\n   '\n\n
