 vices is a common requirement in the cybersecurity\n   world from tracking
  rogue devices to locating bad actors. This\n   presentation will cover a 
 novel technique of combining passive\n   scanning techniques with active s
 canning using intended behaviors\n   within the 802.11 protocol. Passive s
 canning is available through\n   software in suites such as Kali\, or in t
 ools like a Pineapple\, with\n   the disadvantage of being only as fast as
  the target is willing to\n   send packets. Active scanning has been tradi
 tionally relegated to only\n   devices attached to the same Access Point o
 r other\, expensive gadgets\n   while gaining the advantage of eliciting r
 esponses on command. Using a\n   technique based on Wifi-Polite packets\, 
 cheap ESP32s can be leveraged\n   to gain the advantages of active scannin
 g without the requirement of\n   being connected to the same Access Point.
  The software code operating\n   this powerful combination of active and p
 assive scanning on an\n   inexpensive platform will be publicly released. 
 Attendees will have a\n   clear understanding of the technology\, be given
  the knowledge and code\n   to implement it themselves\, and understand th
 e future implications of\n   using devices like this in a cooperative mesh
