DESCRIPTION: 'Title: Modifying Impacket for Better OpSec\n When: Friday
 \, Aug 9\, 14:00 - 15:50 PDT\n Where: LVCC West/Floor 2/W204-W207/W204-W
 207-Narrows - [1]Map\n\n Description:\n\n Operational security (OpSec)
is a cornerstone in red teaming\,\n necessitating continuous refinement
of tools and techniques to avoid\n detection. This workshop is designed
for new red team operators and\n individuals seeking to enhance their o
ffensive capabilities. It\n focuses on customizing the Impacket toolsetâ
€”a collection of Python\n classes for working with network protocols—
to improve OpSec during\n engagements.\n\n Impacket tools such as wmie
xec\, smbexec\, and secretsdump are staples\n in the toolkit of any red
teamer due to their versatility and power in\n gaining access and extrac
ting sensitive data from Windows\n environments. However\, their detecta
bility has increased as defensive\n measures have become more sophistica
ted. This session proposes\n modifications to these tools to reduce thei
r footprint and evade\n modern security defenses.\n\n Participants wil
l explore various customization strategies\, including\n altering networ
k signatures\, timing attacks to evade detection\, and\n integrating ste
althier authentication methods. Practical exercises\n will guide attende
es through the process of modifying the Impacket\n scripts\, demonstrati
ng how these changes can significantly enhance\n operational security in
simulated environments.\n\n SpeakerBio: Ryan O'Donnell\, Senior Offens
ive Security Engineer at\n Microsoft\n\n Ryan O'Donnell is an Offensiv
e Security Engineer at Microsoft. Over\n the last 13+ years\, Ryan has b
een performing Penetration Tests\, Red\n Team assessments\, and Incident
Response investigations. Ryan has\n conducted hands-on workshops at Hac
k Space Con and Bsides Nova. Ryan\n has a Masters in Cybersecurity from
