DESCRIPTION: 'Title: Remote Sensor Node Updates for FISSURE - The RF Fram
 ework\n When: Saturday\, Aug 10\, 14:00 - 14:59 PDT\n Where: LVCC West
 /Floor 1/Hall 3/HW3-05-03 - [1]Map\n\n Description:\n\n New updates to
FISSURE\, the open-source RF framework and toolbox for\n all things RF\
, include the addition of deployable remote sensor nodes\n consisting of
general-purpose computers that support many types of\n radio peripheral
 s. These remote sensor nodes run a small subset of\n code that can be co
ntrolled over a network through the FISSURE\n Dashboard GUI to perform t
raditional FISSURE operations and also\n execute new types of scripted a
ctions that can be run autonomously on\n startup or semi-autonomously th
rough user interaction.\n\n Flexible hardware options inherent to the co
mputers and the radio\n peripherals allow the operator to weigh varying
price points and\n upgrade options depending on the task at hand. Multip
le types of COTS\n single-board computers (Raspberry Pi\, Orange Pi\, et
c.)\, mini-PCs\,\n laptops\, and desktop computers can be supported alon
 g with various\n RF-enabled devices like software-defined radios or\n
Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/Zigbee adapters. The new updates also include the\n abil
ity to trigger electromagnetic effects using different types of\n RF\, v
 isual\, acoustic\, and environmental sensors connected to the\n nodes.\n
\n The deployment of multiple sensor nodes on the same network unlocks\n
many geospatial applications for future development of FISSURE. Such\n
   applications include direction finding\, tracking\, intrusion detection\
,\n mobile deployment\, and perimeter defense. A small form factor and\n
autonomous capabilities grant unique opportunities for stealth\n depl
oyment and packaging onto existing platforms. These updates can\n also p
rovide a low-cost mechanism for remote workers to conduct\n combined RF-
cybersecurity testing and access specialized RF\n environments like inte
rnational localities of interest\, laboratories\,\n and test sites.\n\n
This talk will provide a brief overview of FISSURE and walk through\n
all the new updates relating to the remote sensor node capabilities.\n T
