Where: Caesars Forum - Accord Boardroom - Demo Labs - [1]Map\n Speakers:
 Christoph Wedenig\,Simon Ammer\n\n SpeakerBio:Christoph Wedenig\n Chri
stoph always loved to interact with software systems\, even more so\n in
unintended ways. He studied Applied Computer Science in the south\n of
Austria\, focusing on the detection of server-side request forgery\n in
his Master’s thesis. As a demo environment for this thesis\, he\n crea
ted a small distributed application called “Vogelgrippe” which\n was
then later extended for various other use cases until being\n renamed t
o Unguard and finally gifted to the community as an\n Open-Source playgr
ound. Currently\, he is working in the Application\n security team at Dy
natrace\, where he helps build a wide suite of\n security-related softwa
 re.\n\n SpeakerBio:Simon Ammer\n Simon's interest in cybersecurity was
sparked after listening to the\n Darknet Diaries podcast\, which led hi
m to pursue a career in this\n fascinating field. He studied Software En
gineering and Mobile\n Computing in Austria\, focusing on enhancing web
vulnerability scanner\n reports for his Master's thesis. Driven by his p
assion for\n cybersecurity\, Simon decided to further expand his knowled
ge by\n enrolling in another Master's program specializing in Artificial
\n Intelligence. Currently\, he holds the position of Research Software\
n Engineer in the cloud-native security team at Dynatrace. There\, he\n
leverages his knowledge to employ AI to improve security measures and\n
safeguard digital infrastructures.\n\n Description:\n Unguard is an
 intentionally insecure\, cloud-native microservices demo\n application t
hat serves as a playground for cybersecurity enthusiasts\n to sharpen th
eir skills and for cybersecurity companies to test their\n software. Des
igned to mimic a web-based Twitter clone\, the platform\n offers user re
 gistration\, login\, content posting\, and social\n interactions\, all w
ith a wide variety of exploitable vulnerabilities.\n Featuring a wide ra
 nge of security flaws\, including SSRF\, Command/SQL\n Injection\, Log4S
 hell\, and Spring4Shell\, Unguard challenges security\n professionals\,
 developers\, and students to identify\, exploit\, and\n understand these
weaknesses. Simultaneously\, the platform showcases\n deceptive element
s\, such as phony ads and profile management options\,\n which further e
 nhance the real-world experience offered by the demo.\n '\n\n 1. #Caes
