DESCRIPTION: 'Title: Radio Frequency Capture the Flag\n When: Friday\,
 Aug 11\, 10:00 - 12:59 PDT\n Where: Virtual\n\n Description:\n Do yo
u have what it takes to hack WiFi\, Bluetooth\, and Software\n Defined R
adio (SDR)?\n\n RF Hackers Sanctuary (the group formerly known as Wirele
ss Village) is\n once again holding the Radio Frequency Capture the Flag
(RFCTF) at DEF\n CON 31. RFHS runs this game to teach security concepts
and to give\n people a safe and legal way to practice attacks against n
ew and old\n wireless technologies.\n\n We cater to both those who are
new to radio communications as well as\n to those who have been playing
for a long time. We are looking for\n inexperienced players on up to th
e SIGINT secret squirrels to play our\n games. The RFCTF can be played w
 ith a little knowledge\, a pen\n tester’s determination\, and $0 to $$
$$$ worth of special equipment.\n Our new virtual RFCTF can be played co
mpletely remotely without\n needing any specialized equipment at all\, j
ust using your web browser!\n The key is to read the clues\, determine t
he goal of each challenge\,\n and have fun learning.\n\n There will be
clues everywhere\, and we will provide periodic updates\n via discord a
nd twitter. Make sure you pay attention to what’s\n happening at the R
 FCTF desk\, #rfctf on our discord\, on Twitter\n @rf_ctf\, @rfhackers\,
and the interwebz\, etc. If you have a question -\n ASK! We may or may n
ot answer\, at our discretion.\n\n FOR THE NEW FOLKS\n\n Our virtual R
FCTF environment is played remotely over ssh or through a\n web browser.
It may help to have additional tools installed on your\n local machine\
, but it is not required.\n\n Read the presentations at: [1]https://rfha
ckers.com/resources\n\n Hybrid Fun\n\n For DEF CON 31 we will be runni
ng in “Hybrid” mode. That means we\n will have both a physical prese
nce AND the virtual game running\n simultaneously. All of the challenges
we have perfected in the last 2\n years in our virtual game will be up
and running\, available to anyone\n all over the world (including at the
conference)\, entirely free. In\n addition to the virtual challenges\,
we will also have a large number\n of “in person” only challenges\,
which do require valid conference\n admission. These “in-person” onl
y challenges will include our\n traditional fox hunts\, hide and seeks\,
and king of the hill\n challenges. Additionally\, we will have many cha
llenges which we simply\n haven’t had time or ability to virtualize. P
laying only the virtual\n game will severely limit the maximum available
points which you can\n score\, therefore don’t expect to place. If yo
u play virtual only\,\n consider the game an opportunity to learn\, prac
tice\, hone your skills\,\n and still get on the scoreboard for bragging
rights. The virtual\n challenges which are available will have the same
flags as the\n in-person challenges\, allowing physical attendees the c
hoice of\n hacking those challenges using either (or both) methods of ac
cess.\n\n THE GAME\n\n To score you will need to submit flags which wi
ll range from decoding\n transmissions in the spectrum\, passphrases use
d to gain access to\n wireless access points\, or even files located on
servers. Once you\n capture the flag\, submit it to the scoreboard right
away\, if you are\n confident it is correct. Flags will be worth less p
oints the more\n often they are solved. Offense and defense are fully in
play by the\n participants\, the RFCTF organizers\, and the Conference
itself. Play\n nice\, and we might also play nice.\n\n Getting started
