eloped with peers that oversee\n elections in their states\, Ross has en
 couraged engagement with the\n researcher community.\n\n Description:\
n Most of us acknowledge that collaboration between hackers and\n poli
cymakers is necessary and beneficial. Specifically\, the security\n rese
arch community is more effective in supporting security\n improvements f
or state and local government entities when they work\n collaboratively
with government officials. We also know building\n bridges between these
communities\, each of which includes a diverse\n makeup of individuals
and organizations\, is not a simple task. Several\n years ago\, the Nati
onal Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) and\n a small group of h
ackers began construction on one such bridge. This\n session shares less
ons learned from that experience. NASS created an\n interactive event\,
called Hacking Demystified\, which complements\n broader efforts to educ
ate and foster relationship-building. We will\n provide examples of wher
e we have found success and seek input from\n the audience on how to fur
ther expand our work. We will generate ideas\n for how everyone in the r
oom may create more opportunities for\n productive collaboration between
security researchers and state\n government officials. Join us to learn
more about how NASS is\n demystifying hacking and participate in a brai
nstorming session on how\n we may all work together to further increase
 knowledge and\n understanding across our communities.\n '\n\n 1. #Ca
