 ion\n   security. His background spans across IT Operations\, Development\
 ,\n   designing Wide-area networks for WorldCom\, and supporting\n   high-
 redundancy high-performance Linux systems. D.J. has a keen\n   interest in
  what happens in computer languages down to the Assembly\n   level.\n\n   
 Description:\n   The software language we choose to use has a profound eff
 ect on the\n   behavior of a program. Sometimes we reflexively pick a lang
 uage based\n   on the genre. But some languages are more prone to success 
 in some\n   circumstances and surprises in other cases. Surprises lead to 
 certain\n   types of bugs. Some bugs are vulnerabilities.\n\n   Whether we
  are learning a new language as a newcomer to hacking or as\n   a seasoned
  pro\, the behaviors of a language can make the difference\n   between a f
 un time or frustration. Every language has ""gotchas"". We\n   explore a v
 ariety of behaviors and a few beginners' level "gotchas" in\n   popular la
 nguages.\n\n   We examine and compare several current languages. There are
  some basic\n   instructions to get started in running an initial program.
  Lastly\, we\n   explore a few ideas that allow us to craft a future of fe
 wer bugs and\n   vulnerabilities.\n\n   There are only a few prerequisites
  to this talk. It is helpful that\n   you have viewed a program source cod
 e listing before\, that you have an\n   awareness of Compiled programs ver
 sus Interpreted programs\, and you\n   have a general awareness of using v
