d on W3C Decentralized Identifiers\n and Verifiable Credentials are beco
ming increasingly popular for their\n promises of improved security\, pr
ivacy\, and user control in identity\n management. Impactful deployments
are coming: from the US DHS for\n worker authorization and soon passpor
ts\, multiple DMVs for driver's\n licenses\, the EU for university degre
e credentials\, and much more in\n both public and private sectors. Howe
ver\, as with any technology\,\n these systems are not immune to vulnera
bilities and attacks\, both on\n the ideologies of decentralization and
 self-sovereignty and\n vulnerabilities in implemented systems.\n\n In
this talk\, we will examine different types of vulnerabilities in\n the
SSI space\, walk through examples of potential attacks\, and discuss\n t
he potential consequences of the technology. Additionally\, we will\n ex
plore potential solutions to mitigate the risks associated with\n these
vulnerabilities. We will discuss best practices for trust\,\n cryptograp
hic techniques\, and security protocols that one can use in\n decentrali
 zed identity systems.\n\n '\n\n 1. #FlamingoThirdFloor\n\n\n
