DESCRIPTION: 'Title: Learning to Hack Bluetooth Low Energy with BLE CTF\n
    (Pre-Registration Required)\n When: Friday\, Aug 11\, 14:00 - 17:59 P
 DT\n Where: Flamingo - Exec Conf Ctr - Foyer - Workshop Checkin - [1]Map
\n\n SpeakerBio:Ryan Holeman \, CISO at Strike\n Ryan Holeman resides
in Austin\, Texas\, where he works as the CISO for\n the peer-to-peer pa
yment platform Strike. He is currently pursuing a\n Ph.D. in cyber defen
se from Dakota State University. He has spoken at\n respected venues suc
 h as Black Hat\, DEF CON\, Lockdown\, BSides\, Ruxcon\,\n Notacon\, and
Shmoocon. You can keep up with his current activity\, open\n source cont
ributions\, and general news on his blog. His spare time is\n mostly spe
nt digging into various network protocols\, random hacking\,\n creating
art\, and shredding local skateparks.\n\n Description:\n BLE CTF is a
series of Bluetooth Low Energy challenges in a\n capture-the-flag format
. It was created to teach the fundamentals of\n interacting with and hac
king Bluetooth Low Energy services. Each\n exercise\, or flag\, aims to
interactively introduce a new concept to\n the user.\n\n Over the past
few years\, BLE CTF has expanded to support multiple\n platforms and sk
 ill levels. Various books\, workshops\, training\, and\n conferences hav
e utilized it as an educational platform and CTF. As an\n open source\,
low-cost of entry\, and expandable education solution\, BLE\n CTF has he
lped progress Bluetooth security research.\n\n This workshop will teach
the fundamentals of interacting with and\n hacking Bluetooth Low Energy
services. Each exercise\, or flag\, aims to\n interactively introduce a
new concept to the user. For this workshop\,\n we will undergo a series
of exercises to teach beginner students new\n concepts and allow more se
asoned users to try new tools and\n techniques. After completing this wo
rkshop\, you should have a good\n solid understanding of how to interact
with and hack on BLE devices in\n the wild.\n\n If you have done BLE
CTF in the past\, this class is still valuable.\n For advanced users\, w
e offer BLE CTF Infinity\, a sequel to BLE CTF.\n The workshop will also
showcase new hardware platforms and client\n tools for interacting with
and completing the exercises.\n\n Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
\n\n Prerequisites for students:\n - To prepare for the workshop\, ple
ase follow the setup documentation\n located at [2]https://github.com/ha
 ckgnar/ble_ctf/blob/master/docs/workshop_setup.md\n\n Materials or Equip
ment students will need to bring to participate: -\n Preferably a Linux
box with a Bluetooth controller or a Bluetooth USB\n dongle. An OSX or W
indows machine with a Linux VM and USB passthough\n works as well but sh
ould be setup and tested before the workshop.\n\n '\n\n 1. #FlamingoLo
