DESCRIPTION: 'Title: Radio Frequency Capture the Flag\n When: Friday\,
 Aug 11\, 10:00 - 17:59 PDT\n Where: Flamingo - Eldorado - Radio Frequenc
y Village - [1]Map\n\n Description:\n Do you have what it takes to hac
 k WiFi\, Bluetooth\, and Software\n Defined Radio (SDR)?\n\n RF Hacker
s Sanctuary (the group formerly known as Wireless Village) is\n once aga
in holding the Radio Frequency Capture the Flag (RFCTF) at DEF\n CON 31.
RFHS runs this game to teach security concepts and to give\n people a s
afe and legal way to practice attacks against new and old\n wireless tec
hnologies.\n\n We cater to both those who are new to radio communication
s as well as\n to those who have been playing for a long time. We are lo
oking for\n inexperienced players on up to the SIGINT secret squirrels t
o play our\n games. The RFCTF can be played with a little knowledge\, a
 pen\n tester’s determination\, and $0 to $$$$$ worth of special equipm
ent.\n Our new virtual RFCTF can be played completely remotely without\n
needing any specialized equipment at all\, just using your web browser!
\n The key is to read the clues\, determine the goal of each challenge\,
\n and have fun learning.\n\n There will be clues everywhere\, and we
will provide periodic updates\n via discord and twitter. Make sure you p
ay attention to what’s\n happening at the RFCTF desk\, #rfctf on our d
 iscord\, on Twitter\n @rf_ctf\, @rfhackers\, and the interwebz\, etc. If
you have a question -\n ASK! We may or may not answer\, at our discreti
on.\n\n FOR THE NEW FOLKS\n\n Our virtual RFCTF environment is played
remotely over ssh or through a\n web browser. It may help to have additi
onal tools installed on your\n local machine\, but it is not required.\n
 \n Read the presentations at: [2]https://rfhackers.com/resources\n\n H
ybrid Fun\n\n For DEF CON 31 we will be running in “Hybrid” mode. Th
at means we\n will have both a physical presence AND the virtual game ru
nning\n simultaneously. All of the challenges we have perfected in the l
ast 2\n years in our virtual game will be up and running\, available to
anyone\n all over the world (including at the conference)\, entirely fre
 e. In\n addition to the virtual challenges\, we will also have a large n
umber\n of “in person” only challenges\, which do require valid conf
erence\n admission. These “in-person” only challenges will include o
ur\n traditional fox hunts\, hide and seeks\, and king of the hill\n c
hallenges. Additionally\, we will have many challenges which we simply\n
haven’t had time or ability to virtualize. Playing only the virtual\n
game will severely limit the maximum available points which you can\n s
core\, therefore don’t expect to place. If you play virtual only\,\n c
onsider the game an opportunity to learn\, practice\, hone your skills\,\n
and still get on the scoreboard for bragging rights. The virtual\n ch
allenges which are available will have the same flags as the\n in-person
challenges\, allowing physical attendees the choice of\n hacking those
challenges using either (or both) methods of access.\n\n THE GAME\n\n
To score you will need to submit flags which will range from decoding\n
transmissions in the spectrum\, passphrases used to gain access to\n wir
eless access points\, or even files located on servers. Once you\n captu
re the flag\, submit it to the scoreboard right away\, if you are\n conf
ident it is correct. Flags will be worth less points the more\n often th
ey are solved. Offense and defense are fully in play by the\n participan
ts\, the RFCTF organizers\, and the Conference itself. Play\n nice\, and
we might also play nice.\n\n Getting started guide: [3]https://github.c
