gs (IoT)\n Program\, focused on advancing and accelerating the developme
 nt and\n application of research\, standards\, guidelines\, and technolo
gies to\n improve the security and privacy of the ecosystem of connected
\n devices. She coordinates across NIST on all things related to\n cyb
ersecurity of the IoT including leading the NIST response on IoT\n for a
number of Presidential directives (EO 13800\, 14028)\, the IoT\n Cybers
ecurity Improvement Act of 2020 and the Consumer product\n cybersecurity
labeling effort announced by the White House in July.\n Before coming t
o NIST\, Kat worked in the private sector for 25 years\n leading organiz
ations’ development and execution of their IT\n strategies.\n\n Spea
kerBio:Peter Stephens \, OECD\n Peter Stephens is an experienced policy
lead\, in the UK and abroad.\n From 2018 to 2021\, he led the IoT Securi
ty Policy Division across the\n UK government\, responding to the Mirai
attack\, and delivering the\n Product Security and Telecommunications In
frastructure Bill. He is an\n experienced public servant\, well versed i
n delivering through\n government. He has advised Ministers and Prime Mi
nisters on the\n creation and running of Delivery Units in Government.\n
\n Whilst not technical by background\, he brings a rebellious streak. A
s\n a student\, Peter hitch hiked from Buenos Aires to New York City and
he\n also spent two years teaching in an inner city school in south Lon
don.\n Experiences like this have left him with a staunch optimism about
\n people\, and he is a passionate advocate for the partnerships between
\n policy makers and hackers to make better informed policies that can\n
support policymakers\, and citizens\, around the world. He is currently
\n a Policy Advisor at the OECD\, supporting member states to navigate t
he\n range of challenges across digital security.\n\n\n Description:\n
2023 is a significant year for the IoT\, with the Cyber Resilience Act\
n in the EU and the Product Security and Telecommunications\n Infrastr
ucture Bill in the UK\, as well as labelling approaches in the\n US and
Singapore. With new regulation\, there is always a threat that\n the 'fl
oor' will become a 'ceiling' in the levels of security. This\n panel wil
l feature speakers from across policy\, industry and the\n hacker commun
ity to discuss what steps policy makers should take to\n address this li
 ve challenge.\n '\n\n 1. #CaesarsSummitBR\n\n\n
