n User and Entity Behavior Analysis (UEBA) has been an active area of\n
research in cybersecurity for years now. Advancements in unsupervised\n
machine learning methodologies have made UEBA models effective in\n de
tecting anomalous drifts from baseline behavior. But when collecting\n u
ser generated systems data from a cluster of machines in the cloud or\n
from an endpoint\, the data scientist gets access to human generated\n r
aw features\, which keys are typed when\, and what are those. This\n sta
rts off as acceptable but wades into the grey area of almost\n keyloggin
g users which is dangerous.\n\n In this talk\, we will go through a real
example of how a user behavior\n experiment was set up\, right from bui
lding the features to running the\n data collection script within contai
ners to flushing the raw data\n regularly and the users sending only agg
regated metrics to the data\n scientists for model building and analysis
. We’ll go through the\n entire setup from data collection and data fl
ushing to model building\n by creating weak labels and further analysis.
