 e learning paradigm shifts toward the use of\n   large pretrained models f
 ine-tuned to a specific use case\, it becomes\n   increasingly important t
 o trust the pretrained models that are\n   downloaded from central model r
 epositories (or other areas of the\n   internet). As has been well documen
 ted in the machine learning\n   literature\, numerous attacks currently ex
 ist that allow an adversary\n   to poison or “trojan” a machine learni
 ng model causing the model\n   to behave correctly except when dealing wit
 h a specific adversary\n   chosen input or “trigger”. This talk will i
 ntroduce the threats\n   posed by these AI trojan attacks\, discuss the cu
 rrent types of attacks\n   that exist\, and then focus on the state of the
  art techniques used to\n   both defend and detect these attacks.\n\n   As
  part of an emphasis on trojan detection\, the talk will also cover\n   ke
 y aspects of the TrojAI Competition ([2]https://pages.nist.gov/trojai/)—
 an\n   open leaderboard run by NIST and IARPA to spur the development of\n
    better trojan detection techniques. This leaderboard provides anyone\n 
   with the opportunity to run and evaluate their own trojan detectors\n   
 across large datasets of clean/poisoned AI models already developed by\n  
  the TrojAI team. These datasets consist of numerous different AI\n   arch
 itectures trained across tasks ranging from image classification\n   to ex
 tractive question answering. They are open-source and ready for\n   the co
