He is\n extremely interested in demystifying all sorts of binary code\,
and his\n main research interests are software vulnerability discovery\
,\n automated exploit generation\, and binary decompilation. Fish is a\n
    co-founder and a core maintainer of angr.\n Twitter: [3]@ltfish_\n\n

\n One of the most badass skills a hacker can possess is the ability to\
n find and pwn vulnerabilities in binary software. This is enabled by a\
 n long history of complex tools: OllyDBG\, SoftICE\, IDA Pro\, Binary\n
Ninja\, and now: angr. Built using cutting-edge techniques straight out\
n of research labs around the world\, angr enables analysts to swiftly\n
carry out advanced reasoning over software to understand complex code\n
and find the juicy hidden vulnerabilities within. While angr is\n arg
uably one of the most user-friendly binary analysis frameworks\n availab
le on the market\, it is never an easy task to use it to its\n full pote
ntial\, especially when facing less common architectures (such\n as Powe
 rPC)\, niche operating environments (bare-metal binaries or\n embedded a
 rchitectures)\, or unique tasks (e.g.\, binary code\n optimization\, exp
loit generation\, efficient vulnerability discovery\,\n etc.). To assist
users\, especially medium-level and professional\n reverse engineers to
effectively and efficiently use angr in their\n daily work\, we designe
d this two-day course focusing on the use of\n non-trivial capabilities
that angr offers\, as well as customizing\n angr’s advanced analyses f
or users’ needs. This course is\n extremely practical and hands-on: Be
 sides a five-hour lecture\, core\n angr developers will guide students t
o solve over ten specially\n crafted problems with angr. This course wil
l focus on Linux userspace\n binaries (x86-64 and ARM)\, Windows userspa
ce binaries (x86-64)\, and\n firmware images (ARM). After completing thi
s course\, students will\n master practical angr skills that will help t
hem reverse engineer\n userspace binary programs and assess them for def
 ects and\n vulnerabilities.\n\n '\n\n 1. https://defcon.outel.org/co
